The Boston Salpinx, housed at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, is the world’s only substantially complete surviving example of an ancient Greek salpinx. Ancient lip-blown instruments play a central role in the Brass for Beginners interdisciplinary curriculum, inspiring curiosity and giving students a creative impetus for making sound in the first place.
