Since the Midwest Clinic in December, we've been hard at work behind the scenes. We're grateful for the many conversations we've had with educators, performers, and colleagues across the country. There's much to come — but first, we wanted to share a few updates.
📍 Our Office Has Moved to Elgin, Illinois
We’ve relocated our business office, fulfillment center, and workshop to Elgin, IL, bringing us closer to our new manufacturing partner and positioning us for continued growth.
This move reflects an ongoing effort to refine processes and strengthen the foundation of BFB Brass® as we continue expanding into schools, studios, and universities nationwide.
Now Working with Elgin Molded Plastics
Over the past several months, we have conducted a full review of the production process for our polycarbonate natural trumpets in partnership with Elgin Molded Plastics.
This review included:
1. Updates to assembly fixtures
2. Refinement of production tolerances
4. Improvements in assembly procedures
5. Careful evaluation of playability and durability
The result: instruments that are more consistent, more durable, and better suited to the demands of classroom, studio, and performance settings.
We are proud of the improvements and excited about the long-term stability this partnership provides.
Across four states this winter, we continued the conversation.
Conferences & Workshops
Since exhibiting at the Midwest Clinic (Chicago, IL) in December, we’ve had the privilege of presenting and/or exhibiting at CASMEC (Sacramento, CA), IMEC (Peoria, IL), and MMEA (Baltimore, MD). Many thanks to our outstanding booth staff for their engaging work with attendees — we're grateful for the energy and generosity they brought to each event.
We are encouraged by the growing interest in whole-class brass instruction and historically grounded brass pedagogy.
Upcoming: PM Music Accredited Workshop (Aurora, IL — April 2026)
We’ll be leading an accredited 3-hour professional development workshop with guest presenters Stephanie Abudayeh and Colleen Scampini at PM Music this April. If you’re in the area and would value hands-on experience with the program, we’d love to see you there.

ITG – May 2026
We’ll also be exhibiting at the International Trumpet Guild Conference at the end of May. More details to come — we look forward to connecting with many of you there.
Thank you for being part of this growing community. Whether you’re leading a classroom, teaching privately, directing a band, or exploring historical brass traditions, we’re grateful for your continued interest and support.
Warmly,
Chris & the BFB Brass® Team
